Kaduna State Government Is Committed For  Almajiri’s  Walfair

Kaduna State Government under the administration of Uba Sani has reaffirmed it’s commitment towards Almajiris Walfair in the state.


The  Special Assistant to the executive governor on school feeding, Hajiya Fauziyya Ado,  stated this  during the Eid al-Adha celebration which she did together with them on 16th July, 2014.

Hajiya Fauziyya Buhari Ado, in a visit to one of the boarding schools of the Almajirai in the state on the Eid day named Umaru Musa ‘Yar Adua Almajirai Bilingual Model Primary School IQTE Sabon Gari, Marabar Gwanda in Sabon Gari Local Government of Kaduna State, said that is the reason why she prepare a Eid feast for them so that they can feel that the government is actually aware of them.

Hajiya Fauziyya while shedding more light on the agenda of Uba Sani especially on Almajirai and their schools, she reaffirmed that they would continue to support Almajiri boarding schools throughout Kaduna state and to ensure that their teachers and the Almajiris were motivated so that they can become good citizens that Kaduna state as a whole will be proud of.

“We have eight of these schools in Kaduna state.” She says, adding, “This school was established because of Almajiris, in the north we have many almajiris, if we let the situation deteriorated, without any care, without monitoring, we will experience huge setback in the north, that is why these schools were established. We have one in Tudun Jirgi Soba, IQTE Mararrabar Gwanda, IQTE Labar, IQTE Jere, they are many.”

The Special Assistan to the Governor, who described the children as the most vulnerable, said, “Their parent are poor, they thought they do not have any support from anyone, but we are showing them that they have somebody, because we ourselves have left our families so that we can celebrate Eid with them.” As how she said during her long speech and interview with journalist at the feast.

The school head, Abdulhamid Aliyu, who said there are about 500 Almajiris in the school, showed his appreciation to the Kaduna State government because of the positive change they experienced on the part of feeding and general care and he commended Hajiya Fauziyya saying, “Last two years she brought two rams for them, they eat food, food was cooked for the children, prayer was done, prayer was done for Kaduna State and the country as a whole, and today is Eid, she is together with the children, ram was slaughthered for the children, and there is food for them, the children are happy more than how they would have been at their homes.” ss how he explained, sai ya yi addu’a ga explained, he then prayed for Kaduna state government.

parents and district head at the feast at the school also commended the way Kaduna state government is taking care of the children and their education.


Jamilu Ahmad Ibrahim, is one of the Almajiris in the school,   daya daga he showed his appreciation saying, “May Allah continue to uplift Uba Sani, she gave us a ram days before not even during Eid. We are grateful, we want him to promote Hajiya Fauziyya to a better position than this.” He then explained to the journalist that they were given food, juice, cakes.

Umar Muhammad is also Almajiri in the school who came from Marabar Gwanda, he expressed his appreciation saying “We used to have food more than how we use to have in our homes, may Allah gave her a position she never imagined. May Allah help her.”

The Eid celebrations with the Almajiris was concluded successfully.
