The Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf had thumb up the State House of Assembly in delivering their mandate as legislators
The Executive Governor stated this while declaring open a three day retreat for the Honorable members of the State House of Assembly and management staff in Abuja today
The Governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, further stressed that the executive arm of government would continue to identify with the State House of Assembly on all matters related to the development of the State in accordance with constitutional provisions.
He also called on both the members of the House and management staff to use what they are going to learn for the development of the House and the State
Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, then remainded the members that the 2024 budget is before the House and called on them to expedite actions for the passage of the budget which will pave way for the executions of government programs, policies and projects for the overall development of Kano State.
In his speech the Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon.Jibril Ismail Falgore said on their parts as law making body they will continue to support and cooperate with the state government in bringing out laws that will positively improve the living standard and socioeconomic well being of the generality of the people of the State.
The Speaker, also assured the Deputy Governor that the House would expedite actions for speedy passage of the 2024 budget which will allowed the State government to continue embarking on developmental projects, programs and policies.
Rt. Hon.Jibril Ismail Falgore charged the participants to maintain high level of concentration and participations through out the presentations that will follow so as to practically apply what they learnt in the course of undertakings thier constitutional responsibilities.
He also thanks the Executive Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf for sponsoring the retreat which he said will go along way in strengthening the roles of the legislators for optimum outputs.
While making remarks the chief consultant, Professor Abdullahi S.Danwanka said the retreat come at a right time considering the dynamics of politics in Kano and the need to refresh the Honorable members on their constitutional responsibilities of Law makings, representations and over sight functions.
He commended the House for their initiatives in human resource development for the actualisation of House objectives.
The theme of the retreat is “Enhancing good governance through effective law makings and oversights” he said.
